On April 16, the unveiling ceremony for the Gongli PreferUS International Sports Medicine Center took place at Gongli Hospital in the Pudong Area of Shanghai. This accomplishment is the culmination of 18 months of preparation and working together to launch this facility with the goal of making Gongli Hospital an international standards sports medicine destination center. PreferUS’ mission is well represented with the opening of this center as it aims to provide the very best western medical practices to the Chinese patients. PreferUS Founder and CEO, Michael Franz commented, "This unveiling ceremony marks the beginning of the execution phase of this unique partnership between PreferUS and Gongli. The people and resources fit combined with a mutually shared vision provides for an excellent chance to bring the highest levels of sports medicine services to the people of China. As sports medicine is an emerging orthopedic specialty in China, there is a great demand potential and very little supply of quality services. To assist in meeting this demand, PreferUS investor partner, Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic, will supply the expertise and resources in sports medicine as well as offer advanced physical therapy services. Kerlan-Jobe’s commitment to this venture is vital to the success of the center. Dr. Ralph Gambardella traveled to Shanghai to participate in the event. Attendees of the unveiling ceremony and following strategy meeting included senior executives and hospital officials from both the PreferUS and Gongli Hospital teams including Gongli Hospital President, Dr. Jiang Ning and PreferUS Founder and CEO, Michael Franz.
The significance of the event also attracted government officials from both China and the U.S. including Deputy Director of Commission of Health and Family Planning of Pudong New Area, Li Xinming, Director of People's Government Office of Foreign Affairs Management Division of Pudong New Area, Dong Haifeng and Commercial Counselor of the U.S. Consulate in Shanghai, Christian Koschil.
